What will the weather be like?

Fall is a wonderful time of year in Ohio, identified most notably by the changing leaves. For those coming from out-of-state, we generally have brisk mornings (40-60℉) and sunny days (60-80℉), so plan for those!

'Sow insight or wisdom'? You want us to talk? What's that all about?

Yes! This whole thing is about you just as much as it's about us 🙂 During our Friday night gathering we'd like each married couple to prepare a short piece of advice or insight that they're willing to share with everyone - something that has helped their marriage thrive or remain strong. Totally optional but we'd love your insight!

On Saturday during the ceremony in Hocking Hills, we'd like each couple (or single) to share a Bible verse that they stand on. We strongly believe in the power of words (and The Word) and would like these verses spoken as affirmations over our marriage. ☺️ Yes, we will go around the circle couple-by-couple 😉

What colors should we wear?!

We're hoping to have a great fall color palette with all of our friends and family! Here's a couple of images to help illustrate the 'nude, rust, and terra-cotta' sort of color scheme we're shooting for:

We're asking that men would wear navy (jacket and slacks) with a plain, white dress shirt underneath. No tie is necessary 🙂 Something like this:

What is Hocking Hills? / Why Hocking Hills?

Great question! While we both love being outside and spending time in nature, part of why we chose Hocking Hills is in line with why the ceremony is so limited in attendance: we want to focus on special people in a special place. Hocking Hills is gorgeous, there's no doubt there, but getting away from town and going somewhere to make a new memory with special people is the goal. As our pastor often says, we want to mark the spot.

Is there transportation to/from Hocking Hills?

Given that we have a small group, we're not planning any formal transportation or bussing to/from Hocking Hills... although we do anticipate all of our loved ones finding the least-common-denominators for who has the biggest vehicles 🙂

Where should we park in German Village?

While the rental house doesn't have a parking lot, there is plenty of parking along the streets in German Village!

Can we post pictures or video on social media?

We're going to ask all of our friends and family to refrain from cell-phone usage and media-capturing during the ceremony. We're bringing in a photographer for the day specifically to do that job so that we can all be free to focus on each other 🙂

Is this a secret event?

Well, not exactly? We don't really plan on posting anything about it on social media and want to retain the intimate, private nature of it, but it's not an outright secret. We'd ask that you refrain from posting on social media about it ahead of time. On the day of or after, we'll be right there with you ☺️
