We could tell you our story...
or we could see how well you know it!
The more I think about the way God brought Jon & I together, the more
I fall in love with Our Story.
In September of last year, Jon and I connected in a way that I suppose
is fairly common these days: through a dating app. Though we often hesitate
mentioning that part, we do indeed have the world of online dating to thank
for allowing our paths to cross.. but more than that, we have God to
thank for truly being the why behind us meeting.
In just two messages back and forth, I found out that Jon held a worship
night with a group of friends every week ("Taco Tuesday & Worship").
I didn't end up feeling like the dating app was my sort of style, so I
did leave Jon hanging there.. but I made sure to screenshot our
conversation before deleting the app! Come mid-November, a friend
and I had been wanting to find and attend a worship service and I
remembered my conversation with Jon. So I set out to find this man!
Who knew people were Facebook friends with their church... thankfully,
Jon was. Which is great, because who could possibly find one random
'Jon' in the sea of 'Jon's on Facebook!
I sent him a message to ask about attending the worship night and two weeks
later he texted me. Fortunately for us, the worship night is fairly intimate
so it was important that we meet first before allowing a (crazy) stranger in.
Jon and I met up in German Village for what should've been a routine walk
and chat about the worship night and who I was... somehow that turned
into five hours of deep conversation and getting to know one another
really genuinely. I think we both felt a sort of comfort and connection
that we couldn’t quite name.
Not much later God gave it a name... he called it love & told me that
Jon would be my husband.
So here we are! About a year has passed but it feels like I’ve always
known this man. We’ve often felt the word “good” covering over our
relationship (in a biblical sense) and felt the comfort of just
simply... fitting. Fitting into each other's arms and hearts.
We thank God for bringing us together and all of our loved ones for
trusting His timing for us. God made it clear from the beginning that we
were meant to be & that I was #grantedasullivan.
That's just the first few chapters of the story.. Join them in Columbus for the next!
